.istanbul Hakkında

.istanbul, dünyanın büyük şehirlerinden biri ve Türkiye'nin ekonomik ve kültürel başkenti olan İstanbul'u temsil eden yeni bir jenerik coğrafi üst düzey alan adıdır. Şehir temelli az sayıdaki TLD'den biri olan .istanbul, işletmelerin, kuruluşların ve İstanbul sakinlerinin, Boğaz'a yayılan bu tarihi metropolle bağlantılarını açıkça ortaya koyan bir alan adı edinmelerini sağlar.

ICANN'ın yeni gTLD programı aracılığıyla İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi tarafından işletilen .istanbul, şehirle bağlantısı olan başvuru sahiplerine açıktır. İstanbul'un akıllı şehir girişimlerini ve dijital ekonomisini destekler, turizm şirketlerine, yerel işletmelere, kamu hizmetlerine ve kültürel kurumlara kendine özgü ve konuma dayalı bir web adresi sunar. Bu TLD, şehirlerin kendine özgü çevrimiçi kimlikler oluşturmasına yardımcı olan coğrafi gTLD'lerin daha geniş bir eğiliminin parçasıdır.
