Yandex.Cloud places compute, storage and managed databases inside Yandex's own data centres, which sit primarily in Russia and neighbouring markets, and for a large part of the customer base that placement is the reason for the choice rather than a side effect of it. The platform has been generally available since 2018, late enough that adoption reflects a deliberate move rather than infrastructure inherited from an earlier decade. A company that landed there afterwards picked a regional provider over the global hyperscalers, usually for data localisation obligations, local currency billing, procurement rules or plain proximity to its users. A hosting fingerprint of this kind therefore carries more meaning than the same fingerprint would for a geographically neutral provider, where the choice says little beyond price. So the audience for this list is not only commercial. Compliance teams, export control and sanctions screening, journalists and researchers tracing infrastructure ownership, and vendors deciding whether a region deserves a sales motion all want the same enumeration, which is the set of live sites that actually sit on the platform rather than the set of companies that say they do. The service is Proprietary and offered only as a managed platform, so there is no self hosted variant to muddle the count and no release history to track. Hosting detection works from address ranges, response headers and service hostnames, all of which a fronting CDN or a reverse proxy can mask completely, and the platform's own edge network resolves to many of the same hosts, so the hosting record and the CDN record describe overlapping populations rather than separate ones. A per domain lookup will tell you where one site is served from.
