A hand maintained list of content systems carries the names everyone recognises and silently drops the ones that only matter in one country, which is exactly where a competitor, an acquirer or a market analyst would want to look. A crawl makes no such distinction, because it records what is on the page whether or not the name is familiar. Presence carries a clear commercial reading. The platform is Proprietary and licensed for installation rather than given away, so an install means a customer who paid for a licence, and a large part of the installed base is put in place by the contract web agencies the vendor sells through. As of October 2026 we see it on 4,198 sites, which for a product serving a single language market is a real installed base rather than a rounding error. Two limits are worth naming. Detection relies on markers the platform leaves in delivered pages, and any install behind a heavily customised template or an aggressive optimisation layer can lose them, so the count is a floor.
