The service dates to 2000 and the license field reads Proprietary, though for hosting that field says very little. What a customer buys is the operation of somebody else's servers, not a copy of software they could install elsewhere, and the commercial relationship is the fact worth having. Detection is inferential and deliberately conservative. A host reveals itself through response headers, control panel artifacts, name server records and default pages, and every one of those can be stripped by a proxy or CDN sitting in front of the origin.
