The country breakdown for Framer Sites looks wrong at first glance. 163,746 of the 206,062 sites we detect resolve to Netherlands, a share no design tool could plausibly earn from the buying habits of one national market. The explanation is architectural rather than commercial. Sites built with the platform are published onto the vendor's own hosting, and the vendor operates from the Netherlands, so country attribution follows the serving infrastructure instead of the customer.

Anyone working with hosted builder data needs to internalise that correction. For self hosted software the country field describes the site owner reasonably well. For platform hosted software the country field describes the platform, and treating the two the same way produces confident nonsense about national markets. The suffix column is more informative in this case, concentrated in .com because published projects tend to have a purchased domain attached rather than staying on a vendor subdomain.

The product launched in 2022 under Framer, sold as a Proprietary subscription, and it publishes JavaScript driven sites from a visual design canvas. The niche is specific. Marketing pages, product launches, portfolios and campaign sites, where visual precision matters more than a deep content model, and where a designer rather than a developer owns the outcome.

Presence is therefore a strong qualifier rather than a background fact. A domain on a platform of this kind is paying a subscription, has an active design function or an agency behind it, and has very probably rebuilt or launched something recently rather than sitting on a site delivered years ago. Growth for a builder this young comes almost entirely from migration, so the detected population skews towards decisions taken in the recent past, which is precisely the population that is still in a buying mood.

The limits are worth stating. Detection relies on signatures the platform leaves in delivered pages, and a project served through a third party proxy or heavily customised can escape them, so the count is a floor. Version information does not apply to a continuously deployed hosted product, which is why the version column is empty by nature rather than unknown by accident.

What the extract does provide is the whole set of domains on the platform, with country, suffix and adjacent technologies attached to each row. Competing builders sizing a migration target, agencies looking for design led clients, and analysts tracking where new sites are being built all need the population rather than a verdict on one address. A per domain lookup only ever returns the verdict.
