Clicky is a hosted analytics service built around real-time visibility, showing who is on a site at this moment rather than summarizing what happened yesterday. Launched in 2006 by Roxr Software, it held a following among bloggers, small agencies and developers who wanted per-visitor detail and a Freemium plan they could grow into slowly. As of October 2026 the tracker appears on 31,952 sites. The count matters less than the kind of site behind it. Running a third-party analytics product other than the obvious free default means the default was rejected on purpose, and the reasons cluster: a privacy or data-ownership objection, a need for individual visitor detail that aggregate reporting hides, or a small operator who bought a tool once, liked it, and never revisited the decision. For anyone selling analytics, attribution, session recording or consent management, a list built on that logic is a qualified prospect list rather than a cold one. Every domain on it has already proved willing to place a tag in a page template and, in most cases, to pay a subscription for what the tag feeds. Approached from the other side, the same list shows how the category is really distributed once you look past the two or three names everyone assumes account for everything. Detection works from a JavaScript fingerprint, which is both the strength and the limit of the method. A tag deployed through a tag manager, proxied behind a first-party domain, or loaded only on pages we did not fetch will be missed. In the other direction, a site that cancelled months ago sometimes leaves a dead snippet in a footer template nobody edits. The figure is a close approximation of live installations, not an audit of billing records, and it is better read as evidence of intent than as proof of a current contract. United States accounts for 21,963 of the detections, and .com is the suffix that recurs throughout the list. The concentration follows the product's marketing history in English-language markets more than any technical constraint, and it is a useful correction to the assumption that a small analytics vendor is evenly spread across the web.
